Get local when you bring the party to Detroit faves like The Old Miami, Park Bar and quaint and quiet Abick's Bar

Great Local Bars - Old Miami, Park Bar and Abick’s Bar

Mar 31, 2014

Touring and visiting all the historic sites and landmark attractions in Detroit can be trying and tiring, even with a charter bus at your disposal. So, when the sun sets, you might be looking around for a good night spot to chill and hang out with the family and friends that you have brought along for the trip. Here are some suggestions from some of our loyal Detroit charter bus rental customers.

1. The Old Miami

3930 Cass Ave., Detroit, MI 48201
(313) 831-3830
Dive Bar in downtown Detroit

The Old Miami, true to its name, gives off a very old, distinctive, down-to-earth and comfortable feeling. And that is what is charming about it, says one of our customers who have been to the bar and continues to frequent the bar with his friends.

The full bar provides patrons with a wide ranging number of drinks from wine down to whiskey. The bar also comes with a spacious dance floor for customers who wish to show off their moves. The bar opens everyday from 1pm till late into the night at 2am. Sometimes it stays open for some customers.

It is the perfect place for parties, celebrations and bachelor and bachelorette parties. There are tables outdoors which are set around fire pit areas so that people can hang around comfortably outside the bar.

2. Park Bar

2040 Park Ave., Detroit, MI 48226
(313) 962-2933
Casual LIVE Music Entertainment Venue

For those who are looking all around Detroit for a pet-friendly bar, you have found one at Park Bar. Not only is Park Bar pet-friendly but they are wheelchair accessible as well. It is a good choice for large parties and group celebrations. On days when there is a LIVE band playing, expect it to be crowded or head over early in order to grab yourself a table.

Park Bar is better known to Detroiters as a favorite spot to stop by on their way to a special game or they will grab a seat and watch a game from the bar’s television. Bucharest, the adjacent restaurant, complements Park Bar nicely as it is also known for authentic Shawarma.

The overall feeling is comfortable, very ‘local’ and friendly.

3. Abick’s Bar

3500 Gilbert St., Detroit, MI 48210
(313) 894-9329

If you are in Southwest of Detroit and hunting down a good dive bar, bring the Detroit rented charter bus to Abick’s Bar along Gilbert’s Street. The small, homely and friendly bar opens from 9am till late 2am except for Sundays when the bar opens for business at noon.

The lack of loud, rowdy music and wild crowd makes this a great place to get to know the locals. Many of the patrons are regulars but they welcome new faces all the time. ‘The place makes you feel like you are home...but in a bar,’ says Patricia, a local event planner who has been to Abick’s Bar.

Keep the address handy if you are looking around for it. The unassuming decorations might make you think that it isn’t a bar but someone’s home. The location is in a residential area, which makes it hard to find and you might start doubting your GPS’ accuracy.
